Gold and Lake District Slate Inlay Ring - Handcrafted and Sustainably Sourced
This stunning ring is made from 3 individual rings; each handmade from 100% recycled gold and carefully soldered together to form a single, beautiful piece. The inlay is made from dark Grey/Black Skiddaw slate, collected from the northern hub of the Lake District itself.
Compared to our standard inlay rings, the outer edges are extra wide. This leaves a narrower channel of slate showing in the below ratio:
For a 5mm wide ring, each edge would be around 1.5mm wide, leaving 2mm for the channel of slate. We would maintain this ratio no matter what width of ring you choose.
All gold rings arrive hallmarked and boxed, ready to gift or wear. We include a gold polishing cloth to keep your ring looking its best.
As each ring is made by us in our workshop, we can customise them in a number of ways. For this ring, you could choose a different type of slate, a specific ratio of gold to slate, or have the channel of slate offset rather than central if you would like. Just contact us and we will let you know if your choice has an impact on the cost. We can set up a custom order for you.
This ring would be a wonderful and slightly alternative gift for anyone, and would work equally well as a wedding band or anniversary present.
We have various options to help you if you don't know your size - just choose "I have no idea" as your size and we will be in touch!
For every order, we send you 3D printed rings in the width chosen and in a variety of sizes. You can wear these for a few days, check the size you have chosen is correct, and then confirm your size via email.
We then make the final ring, and you can be confident it will fit perfectly.
Thank you for viewing the ring. If you have any questions or specific requirements please get in touch.
Extra wide edged 9ct Gold and Lake District Slate Inlay Ring
Each ring ordered is custom made for the buyer, making each item customised and non returnable.
In the unlikely event that a ring arrives defective or we get the size wrong, then we will of course accept a return or exchange in that instance. If you have a problem then please contact us first and we will do everything we can to make it right.
We ask that if the ring doesn't fit you first make sure you are completely certain that your ring size is accurate before sending the ring back. If the ring is the size you requested initially (i.e. we haven't got it wrong) then the relevant resizing charge will apply to put it right. If we've made a mistake we will cover all costs in putting it right (including refunding your postage to us).We apply around 40 coats of hardwearing resin to cover the slate channel in your ring. This makes the ring totally waterproof and scratchproof. This coating shouldn't require more than the occasional clean with soapy water and a soft cloth.
Things to avoid:
As with all gold jewellery, to keep it looking its best remove it before any activity involving pressure to the area (weight lifting, rock climbing). Please also avoid chemicals like cleaning chemicals, paint stripper and acetone (nail varnish remover) as these can damage the slate coating.
